You don’t have to hit a homerun with Publix prices every time you go shopping at this grocery store. What I mean by that is, you really don’t have to worry about finding a better deal at another supermarket in order to shave $.10 off a product because, in the end, Publix products will not be priced the same as other grocery stores but you will still come out way ahead if you average out the total of your purchases.
I have done much comparison shopping with Publix prices and the ones from Winn-Dixie, and I can tell you there are a few differences as far as being able to save while shopping at both. I always shop at Publix first, then I do go to Winn-Dixie after that in my area. This allows me to take advantage of my knowledge of products and what their prices are. This is worthwhile to do, if you have the time, but in reality you can save almost as much money by simply shopping at Publix instead of having to visit one or two other supermarkets in the process.
To me, it’s obvious that the prices at Publix are pretty much the same as anywhere else or otherwise their business wouldn’t be so successful. The advantage you get when you shop at here is the quality of their home grown products such as, starting with dairy products, their milk. I always know that I can count on their own brand of milk to save me at least one dollar as compared to other brands. When you add this with many other products you can see that you come out way ahead anyway.
The Publix prices on their own products are substantially lower than the other big-name heavy hitters. If you make it a habit to purchase the Publix products instead of the national name brands you can easily save about $20 on every shopping trip.
